Dreamlands is a series of small animations that encapsulate day dreaming and magical
lands. It is how kids view the world or even how as an adult you can still have childlike
wonder.
This video shows a little girl sleeping on the moon as it goes by the river while jelly-like
creatures watch. It captures a dream-like scenario where we don’t know if this is reality or if
the little girl is dreaming.
This clip is about a little boy in class who looks at a poster about space and is transported by his imagination.
For this short clip, we see two witches making a potion that goes wrong when a frog jumps out of it.
This was inspired by Daniela's childhood when she would play with potions and letting her imagination run wild.
In this animated illustration, a girl on a tiny planet is looking at the stars raining down on her while she is surrounded by adorable bunnies. This is inspired by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's novel, The Little Prince.
Inspired by Daniela's afternoon walking experience, she created this animation of a magical house in the middle of the woods.
This graphic landscape shows a shooting star going through the ethereal landscape. It has a bit of
blurriness to emphasize the dreamlike quality.
The clip consists of a girl chasing a star. It has an adventure game feel to it as she
travels through different scenarios.
Daniela is an international student from Ecuador who is currently on the last year of an Illustration major. Throughout her years at AuArts, she realized how much she loves drawing children book illustrations. Daniela enjoys connecting with her inner kid, talking about space and dreams, and imagining worlds with pink skies and dancing stars. She also enjoys illustrating portraits that capture moments of serenity. Daniela mostly works digitally, using Procreate, but also enjoys experimenting with traditional mediums such as charcoal, gouache, and pyrography from time to time. Daniela likes to incorporate small animations into her artworks to make it more immersive. Animation is something she is constantly searching to learn more about!
